# Buttons Card Template Action

This action will display a standard buttons card. A buttons card is card with a text followed by a variable number of buttons that can lead to external websites or postback to the chatbot.

The sole purpose of this action is to act as a container for [List Card Buttons](/actions-and-operations/cards/additional-buttons.md). A button card with no buttons will not be displayed.
