# Delete Variable Action

This action will delete a variable from the user profile. The variable will be erased from user conversation and following conditional switches will not be triggered.

### Settings

The action uses the following settings:

| Variable Name | The name of the variable to be deleted | :white\_check\_mark:                                 |

### Remarks

The variable is removed from the current conversation runtime and any reference to that variable will not be [parsed ](/actions-and-operations/dynamic-parsing.md)anymore. If you simply need to clear the current variable value without removing it from the conversation runtime use the [Set Variable Action](/actions-and-operations/profile/xenioo.bots.actions.base.setvariableaction.md#settings) with Mode set to Clear.
